- Why do you describe your products as healthy instead of natural?
- Currently, there are no set standard for the use of the word "natural" many companies are using natural plant extracts in there cosmetic line just so they can put the word "natural" on their label, but their base formulas remain chock-full of synthetic ingredients. Our interest, knowledge, passion and joy is to provide skin and hair products that are effective and healthy. Based on the way the word is currently being used, we choose not to focus on it as a basis for describing our products.
- Why do I have to refrigerate my products?
- Commercial products are made to handle any possible problem that could arise, from freezing to boiling temperatures, as well as very long shelf lives before being purchased. Our products are 100% toxic free and contains no synthetic ingredients, therefore, refrigerating your products after opening, is not necessary, but can help to keep them fresh longer.
- Why is there an expiration date on your product labels?
- Although there are no regulations or requirements under current United States law that require cosmetic manufacturers to print expiration dates on the labels of cosmetic products, we at Orangejardin.com choose to include an expiration date on our products so that you can get the maximum benefits from your products by using them at their freshest.
- Do you preserve your products?
- No, none of our products contain preservatives. Preservatives are substances that kill potentially dangerous microorganisms like bacteria & fungi, that typically avoid waterless compounds. Because their efficacy relies on their ability to kill live cells, their "toxicity" is an unavoidable component. Therefore, to avoid the use of preservatives, our products are completely anhydrous(water free). Also, please note, the ingredients we use in our products, also act as natural preservatives.

Definitions
Please note* if at anytime you see an ingredient listed on our product labels of which you do not understand or have questions, please do not hesitate to call or Email us for an explanation. (just in case you missed it above)
Please find below, a list of some of the most frequently used words associated with our products, along with a brief explanation.
Cold Pressed

Unrefined

Free Radical
Free radicals are highly-reactive and unstable molecules found naturally in the body and in the environment, that can cause serious cellular damage. These molecules contain atoms with unpaired electrons that will react quickly with certain chemicals in the body and in the process, interfere with the cells' ability to function normally.
The body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if the free-radical production becomes excessive, damage can occur. It is believed that free radicals are the main cause of extrinsic (external) aging.
Anti-oxidant
Vitamins C (Ascorbic Acid), E (d-alpha tocopherol), beta-carotene (a form of vitamin A), lycopene, and Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), protect the body against the destructive effects of free radicals by donating one of their own electrons, before they can do any damages. They also act as scavengers, helping to prevent cell and tissue damage by slowing the destruction of cells and create a barrier against pollutants.
We use T-50 Vitamin E Oil in our products because, while the alpha tocopherol in the 250, 1000, and 1400IU/g oils are good antioxidant, studies show that the gamma tocopherol in the Vitamin E T-50 oil is a better antioxidant for oils/lipids in cosmetic formulations due to its large amount of gamma tocopherols.
Vitamin A (Beta Carotene)
Important for natural development of skin & hair. It helps maintain smooth skin & delay formation of premature wrinkles. It also improves skin elasticity, moisture content, suppleness and assist with reversing the signs of photo-aging (intense and chronic exposure to sunlight.) A lack of vitamin A can cause skin to become dry and hardened. Orangejardin. com, sourced ingredients that naturally contain high level of natural vitamin A
